Healthy and Clean Diet for Pregnancy

Pregnancy is the best blessing itself. A pregnant mother ensures the best health and diet for herself as well as the beautiful creature nourishing in her womb. However many times we have less idea about the right food to take. Here are following things that you should incorporate in your daily diet to provide best health to yourself and your baby:

Fresh Fruits and Vegetables:

A healthy and clean diet is a core of fruits and vegetables. Everything directly from nature is best for health every way. During pregnancy you should have at least 4 to 5 portions of fruits and vegetables after thoroughly washing them for health benefits.

Carbohydrates and Starchy Foods:

Not a lot of them but yes starchy carbohydrate containing foods are an awesome form of energy and are one good source of healthy and clean diet of pregnancy. Food like pasta, cereals, spaghetti, rice, potatoes, bread, millet, cornmeal and maize are examples of good starchy foods. However for pasta and cereals going for whole meal and gluten free is the best healthy option.

Protein Foods:

Protein is an essential element for the pregnant body for both mother and baby. Your body needs a good serving of protein every day. Meat, chicken, fish, eggs, beans, lentils, nuts roasted sunflower and pumpkin seeds are very good protein sources. Fish with best oils like salmon, mackerel and sardines are best fishes to have at least twice a week.

Dairy Products:

When we call for calcium we name dairy products the best source of it. Milk, homemade cottage cheese, yogurt and butter are best dairy products to have during pregnancy. 1 to 2 glasses of milk per day is very healthy to go with. If you want to have yogurt try to have natural or homemade and sugarless with no artificial flavors.

During first trimester you should focus of semi solids and soluble fibers with juices and smoothies to cope up with nausea and vomiting. From second trimester onwards, you should have proper balanced diet with 9 to 10 portions of above mentioned foods. Try to have a lot of water to stay hydrated and away from urine infections. Take balanced and nutritious diet to have a healthy and smart pregnancy.
